The 50 Best Inventions of 2010
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07757512087898162282noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6562009842435525745.post-62006827437719552192010-11-13T19:12:00.000-05:002010-11-13T19:12:20.110-05:00Corales cubiertos por petroleo? en el golfo

Giant Coral Die-Off Found—Gulf Spill "Smoking Gun?"

Black substance found coating large colonies of dead coral.

A dying coral possibly covered with oil (pictured with brittle stars at its base) was found this week.

Photograph courtesy of the BOEMRE and NOAA OER Lophelia II expedition

Kathleen Jones aboard the Ronald H.

Search for Extraterrestrial Genomes: NASA -Was There an Earth-to-Mars Bacteria Shuttle?

Nearly 10% of all rocks blasted off into space from the Red Planet end up crashing into Earth.

This natural "interplanetary transportation system" begs a fascinating question: If primitive and nearly indestructible micro-organisms exist on a given planet, must they by definition as a natural act or nature, travel to their immediate solar-system neighbors?
Scientists think it's possible that one or more of those rocks might have contained tiny microbes that successfully made the journey from one planet to the other. In 2018, they plan to test this hypothesis by searching for Earthling-like DNA under Mars' surface.

<a
